Montessori Thermic Tablets with storage box

PRESENTATION OF THE MATERIAL:

A box containing:

• 2 small wooden plates
• 2 small felt plates
• 2 small slate plates
• 2 small steel plates
• 2 small glass plates

Example of a practical exercise:

1. 1. Go with the child to the shelf
   2. Sit down with them at a table
   3. Open the box, place the lid underneath
   4. Take the steel plate, lay it flat on the table and then place the inside of your wrist on it several times
   5. Invite the child to do it too
   6. Take the felt plate and do the same (these are the two most contrasting plates)
   7. Line up the plates one above the other
   8. Once the four plates of the first series are out, take out the four plates of the second series
   9. Take the steel plate from the first series, place it in front of us and then put the one from the second series next to it. Place the inside of the wrist on each of them and then leave them together to one side
   10. Take the felt plate, ask the child to close their eyes and place the slate plate next to it. Ask them to touch each of the plates and tell us whether they are identical. Continue in this way until all the pairs are made
   11. Once the child knows how to do the matching well, give a three-period lesson on “hot” and “cold”; another day, offer a gradation from hot to cold.
