My right and my left

PSYCHO-EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
1. Becoming aware of:
a) Body positions: facing forward – facing backward.
b) The existence of an axis of symmetry dividing the body into two parts: one side – the other side
(right-left).
2. Learning the concepts of left and right in oneself, fundamental for the optimal development
of spatial orientation and laterality.
3. Recognising left and right in another person, helping the child become aware of the
crossing of sides (left-right) that occurs when another person's right and left are
identified. In this case, the point of reference changes to the other person facing you
(for example, my right matches your left when we face each other).

Material for developing knowledge of right and left, through cards showing a character from the front and from the back, along with elements to be placed on each side. The activity guide offers many activities for becoming aware of body positions from the front and the back, of the existence of an axis of symmetry dividing the body into two parts, and for fostering the learning of the left-right concepts. The games suggested are very varied. The youngest children can do sorting activities and copy the models with the cards. Older children can describe a card so that another player places the material as indicated, and so on. An original and well-thought-out material for working on spatial orientation and laterality.

Contents: 1 large silhouette in thick, rigid cardboard to serve as a base (h. 22.5 cm), 7 reversible tiles with an object (front and back), 4 red bracelets to mark the right hand, 24 cards in thick, rigid cardboard with the character and an object (12 front-view photos, 12 back-view – 8 x 11.5 cm), 2 wooden stands for the cards (L. 22.5 cm), activity guide not included, to be downloaded from the Didacto website (game rules tab).
