PRESENTATION:
Fetch the material with the child
Sit down at a table or on a mat
Suggest that the child work on the seven
Say aloud, one times seven: seven
Place a bar of seven vertically
Say: "Two times seven", take a second bar of seven and place it next to the first: fourteen; to reach the result, count starting from seven: 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. Take out a ten with a bar of four and place them horizontally next to the two bars of seven to mark the result
Then move on to three times seven by placing three bars of seven side by side and counting from 14.
Set down the result, then invite the child to continue up to 9x7.
